Well, it was a long journey home. Thankfully it was filled with laughs which made everyone less grumpy. I’m going to miss being in paradise and spending time with like minded people.
As I sit here recovering from jet lag, I’m compiling pictures and footage to share my journey. I’ve sorted most of my way through the pile of over 67gb in footage. My first cut of the video was 30mins. I’ve worked it down to about 18mins but am working on cutting it down to 10-15mins. It is so hard, a 15min video doesn’t give this tragic event justice.
I’ve been through my fair share of museums and historic World War II sites. Never have I witnessed the true damage war causes. These shipwrecks are frozen in time, they tell a story. A story of loss, partying, fighting, destruction and chaos. Whether its traveling through narrow passages to see gauges frozen in the position last recorded as the ship took its last breath, or the chills of witnessing bones and skulls of the lost soldiers of war. Its sad to know the true damage humankind can cause.
One thing I love about scuba diving is how it allows you to explore the tales of the past. Especially when it comes to shipwrecks. There is so much history buried underwater filled with the excitement of encounters with creatures of the ocean. From Dolphins and Sharks to Turtles and Clown Fish. There is always something for everyone.
Editing the final video is going to take a while. I’m hoping I can get it out within the next week or two. For now, I’ll leave you with a promo for the upcoming release. Stay tuned!
NOTE: I apologize for the spelling error at the end of the video. Like I said, jet lag sucks!
