Chuuk Lagoon

I’d like to start off by dedicating this post to my Dad. It was his dream to dive Chuuk Lagoon, but life got in the way so he never managed to dive this wonderful place (yet!). Without him, I would never have known about Chuuk and I probably wouldn’t have been interested in Scuba Diving. So Dad, I’m happy to share the below footage with you so that you can relive the experience of my Journey that you inspired me to take.

I’ve finally settled back into my normal routine and have managed to get my sleep schedule back on track. Its not the same writing this post from an office chair compared to the star lit sky of Chuuk or swinging on a hammock with the sound of waves rolling against the shoreline. I really do miss Chuuk. It was paradise, a simple way of living but it seemed like everyone was happy.

After hours of editing, I’ve finally compiled my footage into a 16min video. It was originally 30mins and I’ve tried to make it as short as possible. It features over 10 wrecks and two weeks of diving. I couldn’t cut it shorter because I feel it wouldn’t give the wrecks of Chuuk Lagoon justice. I don’t expect everyone to watch every second of it but I hope it can shed some light on the amazing journey I had. It will be a vacation I will always remember and I hope to get back there someday in my life. Who knows? Maybe my dad will join me next time!

I’ve received great feedback regarding my blog and  I have some plans for the future of the blog. I want to feature some local dive sites where I train and practice my skills. Cold water diving is a very different environment compared to warm water diving. There is a lot more gear, preparation and planning involved. I’m hoping to share these experiences and its a great way for me to document my progress in scuba diving.

As always, thank you for the continued support and I hope you enjoy the video. A big thank you to Grace Marquez for the featured image!
